We have built Stardex to avoid duplicates by enforcing unique linkedin urls both for candidates and companies / client records. Though, occasionally you will run into duplicates. Typically, this happens when a record was created without a linkedin url.

We store uniqueness on linkedin urls, so as long as we have that, it’ll detect that the person or company already exists.

However, if someone manually adds a person without a linkedin url, then there could be a duplicate. This is because, you can always have two people with the same name. In those cases where indeed it is a duplicate, we’ll have a merge duplicate feature.

You can merge duplicates by first going to one of the duplicate records. Click Actions and then Merge duplicate. This is available in both companies and candidate records.

In the merge duplicate modal, enter the duplicate company that you want to merge it with

If there are conflicts, pick the attributes that you want to prioritize. E.g one record might have a different name, or tag, and you will need to tell Stardex which one you would want to pick.
